Le Musée du Rhum is just outside of town, a right turn off N2 in the direction of Bellevue follow the signs. Don’t let the name fool you. This museum is about more than liquid refreshment. Before you leave here, you’ll have a good understanding of the 300-year history of West Indian traditions, an up-close-andpersonal knowledge of more than 5,000 beautiful insects from around the world, and a solid appreciation of the rum industry. After you view the video documentary and see one of the world’s largest beetles, you’ll be invited to sample various types of rum produced by the Reimonenq distillery, located next door. The Rum Museum is open Monday-Saturday, 9am- 5pm Sunday, 10am-1pm and 3-5pm. Admission is 40FF 7EU $6 for adults, 25FF 4EU $3 for children 11- 18, and 20FF 3EU $2 for kids 10 and younger.
